About Me
You're not on your own no matter how you might be thinking or feeling about your situation or behaving in it.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I accompany a person in doing deep personal work. Through compassionate inquiry/guided discovery, I facilitate a collaborative dialogue and reflection. We go inward and downward to find out who you really are and how you came to be in relationship with your self, your many parts, others and the world. On this courageous inner journey, we will seek insight and clarity through curiosity for more self-awareness, self-management, and self-leadership.
Together we may create more space in you for change and freedom: updating your own relationship with yourself, others, and the world. You matter enough right now to begin this exploration called the ongoing therapy journey. Sooner or later, reckoning with yourself is a call to action that means showing up and not hiding out. It takes courage, willingness, and commitment. Within a warm, safe, and trusting relationship with my help and a process-based orientation you can explore your relevant life history, core beliefs, rules for living, and helpful or unhelpful coping strategies that you had good reasons to develop and use.
With time and effort your fears, deepest needs, values, wants and desires can be discerned. With better understanding of what you care about and what you are trying to do, you can cultivate more self-compassion and self-acceptance. Agency and assertiveness can be by-products. Fundamental truths and choices can be found through making meaning of your current suffering. Relief from distress and a change of mood from feeling lost and worried to feeling more peace and trust in yourself and your decisions is possible. Bring possibility for healing, recovery, and real change with positive difference back into your life, even if the external issue hasn't changed at all.
For your life now and the one yet to be lived, begin or resume the therapy journey. It makes good sense. I am trained in both Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I hold certification in the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), the only treatment model designed specifically for Persistent Depressive Disorder.
